why we built this
Small firms got neither option.
Enterprise proposal platforms like Deltek run $15–25K a year — priced for firms ten times the size of our customers. Generic document SaaS doesn't understand AEC: it doesn't know what a project sheet is, or why sub-consultant content must stay attributed.
So small architecture and engineering firms got neither. They made do with shared drives, email chains, and weekend heroics. Velle is the tool we wished existed for them.
